Things to do

So here we are safely ensconced in “chateau” Grafo (I exaggerate). Today chatting to the neighbour over the hedge, at a safe distance a suggestion was made. They are motor homers, not now going away, so are thinking of clearing the crap (what Neil calls useful stuff that will come in handy eventually) out of the greenhouse and growing some veg, tomatoes and the like. Not done it before because we’re always away in the growing season. Seems like a good idea, no idea if our fingers are green enough but it will kill 2 birds with one stone (sorry birds). It will keep us a little busier and hopefully provide some fresh produce.
Only question, do you think they’ll deliver grow bags and plantlets or whatever you call them

Thompson and Morgan will deliver and if you sign up to their newsletter there are loads of good offers. I would recommend that you try it but unsubscribe soon after! They will fill your bin with waste paper if you let them, bit like Saga😃
Last year I got 48 small lavender plants for something like £9.99. There was a buy on get one free offer and the ‘unit’ was 1 lot of 48 so we got 96!!!

Got to know your plants though, especially flowers.

Today I received delivery of a new shirt that has an "Hibiscus Leaf" pattern on it. However, when I tried it on the leaf looked far more familiar than that.

More like a cannabis leaf. Evidently, an American couple of some age were arrested for growing cannabis in their garden and were locked up while the Law ransacked their home. It turned out to be an Hibiscus Plant. Hard to tell the difference until the flowers grow

Hi Julie & Neil
Lidls had loads of bags of compost this week. Apparently it's not in demand - yet!

I'm perhaps being too optimistic but I'm hoping that we'll get some freedom of movement by the summer so when everything's ready for picking, we'll be off with colin and Betty.

Edit to say that you've inspired me. I'll start a herb garden!

At the moment I've just finished machining some Iroko [poor mans teak] to make a small pair of garden tables and a bench for the porch. Photos to follow next week?
I've got the utility room to paint, big garden table to repair and the plinth on the bungalow to repoint and paint. I could stretch this lot out to 3 or 4 weeks.
We are just off to see if we can get some salad bits to plant seeming we are here for the summer, but will hopefully still be off in a few weeks time. Our son farms in Devon and always needs a spare pair of hands. We had booked a few nights near him to help out before we were to move onto the Dorset meet.

So your little pastime is going to be lavender scented soap and other botanical infused products??
Lavender scented toilet paper would fly off the selves at the moment.
