Hi Randa, Mike and Colin, Well I have given it a go and uploaded 5 pictures. Alas I have received a red warning that its all gone pop. Any advice for round 2 of cracking the Eribafolk code from here ??? Thanks, Robbie.
If the files are too big, it will tell you.
The limit is 2MB per photograph. That's pretty substantial. They don't need reducing to the size of a Penny Black or a 3KB pixel pizza.
I'm sure you already know this, but if you're using a Windows-based computer, right click on the image > properties will tell you the file size.
In case you haven't seen it, there's a guide here.

I use the simple paint program that was provided as part of my laptop package.
I just upload the photo I need to that program and it has a "resize" option. Normally my camera produces photos with the major dimension around 7000 pixels so I reduce them to around 1000 before saving and refiling in a temporary file separate from the original image. That makes the image around 500kb so it uploads on here in a flash.
Robbie. I've PMed you.

Hi Robbie
Sorry no use asked me - it is all a bit of a mystery to me.
Last time I tried to load some photos and succeeded I got some gentle ribbing as they either turned out upside down or sideways, I can't remeber which.................................!
Haven't tried again since.

Evening all, I have resized the photo’s and was all set to ‘upload” only to discover the “find file” button does not work on the EF web site. I can click all I like but it wont browse my files. So no photos to show just yet. However I am feeling positive and safe, as I know that whilst on this site not even Donald Trump or Mr Putin could get in.
Will try again later, Robbie

Quote: Steve and Debbie wrote in post #21So if you hit 'edit' on your own post you don't get the words 'attach file' underneath the 'Fotos hochladen' link in the bottom right hand corner?
But if you edit your own existing entry that "Attach File" is missing ! You only have the German options
Nothing there at all?
It may be because I've got extra buttons (in which case what I'm about to say is no help at all), but I've got 'attach file' directly under 'Fotos hochladen'
It isn't a proper link, mind you, like the German words are, so your cursor doesn't change to a little pointy finger when you hover over it.
The cursor stays the same as it does when used in composing text (a vertical line with little serifs top and bottom), but - on my screen at least - if you place that cursor over the words 'attach file' and then click, the proper 'Choose Files' dialog box magically appears as per normal.

Oh , I see. It's greyed out with no 'finger' so I assumed it should not accept a 'click' as is normal practice. It also doesn't have the floppy disk icon by it.
I always accuse Debbie as being click happy when she tries to use the internet, but in this case this is the way to use it.
Please ignore my previous moan and replace it with this one
Steve.

To back up Monsieur Le Pew's statement, I've just tried it as a non Administrator. (Yes, I know its mad but Eribafolk Admin. is not an administrator. Long story )
As a member I have the same options open to me as an Administrator. See screen grabs below..

I only found out about it by accident myself, so it's not like I've got super brainy powers or anything.

Yes that’s what happened to me the “choose file” buttons where greyed out so no clicky clicky happening. Anyway last night they were back in action. Worked like a dream and within five minutes I had the pictures uploaded. I also started a new thread to let all at EF know of my success. Thanks for everyone’s help and sorry I broke the system with the graying out of the clicky clicky buttons. Robbie

Robbie has now uploaded the photos into our Awnings Picture Gallery page 9. Here's the link :- g8p3834-Isabella-Ventura-Air-Simplex-W.html

Robbie
Thanks a lot for persevering with uploading these pictures. It does look a classy piece of kit......but it is pricey and probably too heavy for me.
Yesterday I added to our awning collection by getting one of the SunnCamp Swift Verao 260 Van Low delivered. This is basically Colin's Swift 260 Canopy with a front door added and two side doors where the windows are. It also has a mud skirt that goes down to the ground.
We quickly put it up on the drive with bricks holding the mud skirt and poles in place. It went up really quickly and is very lightweight. We hope it will be a good addition to our collection and we will use it like Colin uses his as an alternative to the Shadow Canopy. It seemed a fair bit larger than our original AL Porch awning and is loads easier to erect.
I have a busy few days ahead but at some stage I will put some photos on to show it in place on our Troll. We are very pleased with it but I guess time will tell as we use it for real. We wonder if condensation may be a problem given the lack of built in ventilation, which won't be a problem with the canopy. However the front door lifts up as a canopy or can be rolled up and we also will use the side doors for extra venilation. We will see.
