Maybe it's a good job that Doo-Dah isn't at home or i could quite easily polish him to death but, our favourite pastime has to be spending time with him.

I spend lots of time in and around ours, and the car, I just love a clean outfit

get the shampoo, waffle mitts, ladder, hosepipe, microfibre cloths, harly and collinite waxes, plus a few litres of elbow grease

Going away again soon, and also always preparing for the the UK weather.

Good morning Agger. I often look at the air streams as I would love one of their modern interiors inside an Eriba. Just before I read your post I was looking on the airstream website and thinking that shining one of those would keep you occupied for quite some time. We are off to Wales (where Doo-Dah is now residing) next Saturday to get him ready for our trip in September, good to hear the sun is shining your end, it's dull, windy and cool here in Bury. We really do need to move.. Enjoy your labour of love and happy hols to you both. Ellen.

Good Morning ellen and Mark, Airstream! Not for me they leak! And there is'nt enough Brasso in the world for me to clean one!

They look nice but a bit bulbous, especially the smaller ones, a bigger one would be expensive but more aestheticlly (sp?) pleasing.

We are going away in September to Baltic Wharf for a week and then hopefully on from there to somewhere? It will depend on weather, and illness (mother in law terminally ill).

Enjoy your Doo Dah fix next weekend

Just finished so here are a few pics, both my packages have also arrived

Had a really good day today! Started at 0715, and washed the pop top and lower roof, then dried it and applied a coat of Harly wax, did the roof early as the sun warms the roof and makes the polish or wax more difficult to work with, it came up really good

I then cleaned the rain gutter and awning rail with cotton wool balls, these are really effective and require no scrubbing with a brush, just a bit of detergent on your ball and your away (smiley omitted on purpose) I force my cotton wool ball into the awning rail opening and then just go round the van, I actually follow the first with a second at the same time.

Undid and unrolled the Fiamma Caravanstore and put it up (single handed) using my previously given away tip! I wiped the underside once erected and also the aluminium extrusions. Before anyone asks! Yes I did clean the inside of the awning bag

Then I re-wet the lower part of the van and gave it a quick wash and rinse followed by a dry, and of course a coat of Harly wax followed, lovely

I opened all the windows and wioed around the rubber seals, then cleaned the windows inside and out with spray window cleaner from Mr Muscle.

All hatches and inlet / outlets were opened and cleaned with an old microfibre cloth, the Thetford cassette was removed and wiped down and the inside of the housing was also cleaned and fluids topped up.

I regreased the corner steadies, draw bar and roof hinges (different greases). Re-oiled all the key locks.

Dropped the spare wheel holder and put on my inflator extender (so I can check pressure, inflate / deflate without getting under the van or dirty)

Flushed the sinks with a bleach solution, and also the plughole in the shower tray.

Checked the gas regulator and fired up all the gas appliances to check they were working.

Connected the car up and checked all lights etc sere working.

Cut our 20 year old awning mat to size (been meaning to do it for the last 8.5 years)

Stripped out the gas locker and cleaned it out, then cleaned everything before replacing it back from where it came.

Polished all interior woodwork, side panels etc. Rehung the net curtains and false curtains.

Checked and adjusted the fly and black out screens. Checked all interior lights 12v and 240v as well as the fridge and Truma. Fired up the water heater and checked it was ok.

Checked the operation of both water pump assemblies (we carry a spare but actually don't use a water roll or waste water container.

Checked the tyre pressures on a digital hand held meter.

Checked hand brake and aplied grease to the swivel points.

I think thats it, but if someone thinks I've forgotten something it's quite possible

We are away on the 14th for a week and hoping to carry on for a second week, we don't go away when the kids are off anyway, we are also away in October and again in November, that'll be it for this year, and as I've mentioned in this and another thread we have a terminly ill relative in hospital, so we have had to curtail our plans

Well it's been yet another stunning day here, I found something to do as usual, but had'nt planned on this! I cleaned it up before I took the photo as I did'nt want to upset the squeamish, but I had blood dripping off my nose!

I did the same thing years ago when working on a building site, blood dripping from my nose and ears, looked like an axe murderer had been at me, when it was cleaned up I had about a 2 inch gash, still the nurse was pretty

I opened all the windows and pop top, then I was messing about and cleaning and I walked straight into the open bathroom window!!! As I often say to others "SPECSAVERS" really cut deep and lots of blood even on my shirt, Mrs Agger went into one when she saw me! I was still out there cleaning and sorting out the spare wheel 2 hours later, blood everywhere reminded me of my rugby days

Talk about coincidence, our daughter is a nurse at Gloucester Royal Hospital in A & E and earlier today she had a lady in who did the same thing yesterday but did'nt cut her self. I say if a jobs worth doing it's worth doing properly
