According to this https://www.crit-air.fr/en/information-a...ntal-zones.html there are two types of zone.

As you say, an increasing number of large cities and towns are becoming permanent zones, ZCRs. However, many departments (counties) are adopting the ZPA and ZPAd system where they can stop any non-conforming traffic during periods where pollution is high. I would assume that any car not carrying a sticker will be deemed as Group 5 and therefore will not be allowed to travel through that area until the restriction is lifted.

At only circa 6 euros why risk it?

I applied on Sunday (18th Feb) using the link thro C&CC mag,paid 4.8 euros,& to day got an e-mail + att. that gives me a receipt to use until the disc arrives,which they say will be in a few days!most impressed.dave
