I applied for the French clean air thingy on line on Tuesday and received an email confirmation, receipt and PDF attachment certificate this morning.
That's pretty good service I reckon.

The Blue Disc scheme is proposed for diesel vehicles meeting the Euro 6 standard although not all States are keen on this proposal so it's a case of wait and see.

But don't hold your breath, Tony, as it might take up to 30 days before the disc actually pops up in your letter box.

Yes I was aware of the potential wait for the vignette but at least I have the certificate which will prove my registration.

CRITAir sticker ordered online 11 April arrived 20 April.

I think that's pretty good service.

A 'repalcement' is definitely French.

I've been discussing this with Alan Hanks of the EOC this morning and he says :-

I bought a Crit’air sticker for my car early last year just after they were launched. However, I was taken by surprise to read in this month’s Camping & Caravanning Club’s magazine about the expansion of the zones, particularly the new ZPA’s, including one covering La Roche-sur-Yon where we were last year. These zones only came into being towards the end of last year.

We no longer belong to the C & C Club but have found this explaination as to the ZCR and ZPA zones.

https://www.crit-air.fr/en/information-a...ntal-zones.html

Alan also pointed out that there was a link to a useful app in the magazine, This is it:-

https://www.green-zones.eu/en/green-zone...-zones-app.html

However, do not use the app's link to purchase your sticker. it's expensive that way.

To be honest, we've never seen these and there's been nothing telling us all to buy one. I did order one today just in case we end up in one of these places.....they seem to be large towns that we avoid....but I suppose better safe than sorry.

Well, this is the latest one:- The area around Rennes ( including St Malo) :-https://www.ouest-france.fr/bretagne/ren...ignette-5576416 (again, right click to translate)

So, watch out Islay. They're coming to get you

Mrs R downloaded the app yesterday and she appears to be quit happy with it.

Hahaha. On the radio this morning they said it will be just the centre of Rennes, after 5 days of high pollution. There will be checks, but at first in an educational way, rather than fining people straight away. Anyway, on your advice, i have mine in my hot little hand.

So, I drive a 4 year old diesel and I'm travelling from Calais to Amboise in the Loire. I am guessing I do not need one as I avoid cities by using the major roads. When out for the day I do not drive into major cities.

Am I correct in my assumption.
